With technology playing an increasingly important role in college studentsâ lives, keeping ahead of the curve is essential for any well-prepared student. Thatâs why Best Buy helped six college students start their school year off right.
Over the last month, Best Buy gave college students across the country a huge surprise as part of the #BESTCOLLEGE Challenge Contest. Six grand-prize winners, who were chosen based on college tips and advice they submitted online, were visited by a âdorm room on wheelsâ full of approximately $2,500 worth of the latest and greatest back-to-school products from Best Buy.
The six winners, who are from across the United States, included:
Tim Huizinga, a student at Cedarville University in Ohio. Timâs tip taught students how to use multiple screens to manage assignments. Tim won a Lenovo touch-screen laptop, curved monitor and more.
Gia Jennings, a student at Xavier University of Louisiana. Gia submitted a hilarious video about using technology to get to class faster. Giaâs prize package included a GoPro Hero 4 camera to help her make her next funny video.
Jarod Lau, a student at Eastman School of Music in New York. Jarodâs video tip focused on using fitness trackers to avoid the âfreshman fifteen.â Jarodâs prize package included a Blue USB microphone and an HP Spectre laptop.
Holly Ingersoll, a student at Utah State University. Holly demonstrated how to use mobile technology to make note-taking and studying more efficient. Holly won a Sharp LED TV with Roku streaming, among many other prizes.
Oliver Swehla, a student at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Oliverâs college tip showed how automation technology makes keeping his schedule much easier. Oliverâs prize package included an Xbox One console, games and accessories.
Ben Huddleston, a student at the University of Oklahoma. Ben shared a tip about using recording technology to stay creative and productive while living in a dorm room. Ben won a Bluetooth speaker system, a touch-screen laptop and more.
