Thanks to reviews by our employees, Best Buy climbed two spots on Indeed’s Top-Rated Workplaces: Best Retailers list. We landed at No. 7, up from No. 9 last year.
We are especially proud of this award because it reflects our employees’ opinion about working for Best Buy. We work hard to build a culture focused on people – ensuring our employees love coming to work, while delivering amazing experiences for our customers.
So, what does it take to be a top workplace? First, we want our employees to feel that they can be themselves at work. We are all about inclusion – respecting everyone’s unique backgrounds, talents and beliefs.
In addition, employees need to feel valued by their employer. We recently expanded our benefits to include paid time off for part-time employees and additional mental health coverage. We also focus on learning and growth. Our employees completed more than 20 million training courses last year.
Indeed compiled its list by analyzing 180 million ratings and reviews. Employees rates companies based on attribute like work/life balance and compensation and benefits. Retailers, like Best Buy, that rated highest on overall employee satisfaction and had at least 150 reviews between 2017-19 were eligible.
This recognition adds to our growing list of accolades. In July, Best Buy earned a spot on Indeed’s annual list of the 50 Top-Rated Workplaces for the first time. We landed at No. 39, third among retail companies. We were recently named No. 66 on the 2019 Forbes list of World’s Best Employers, as well as third in the world for employee training by Training Magazine.
