We are a big fan of ENERGY STAR® products – they save our customers money and they help the environment by using less energy. And we are proud to say that ENERGY STAR likes us, too.
The Environmental Protection Agency named Best Buy 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – for the second year in a row.
Here are a few ways that we spread the good word about ENERGY STAR:
- Best Buy prominently features ENERGY STAR on BestBuy.com, where more than 1 billion visitors each year can learn about and identify ENERGY STAR certified products.
- In 2014, Best Buy created two new ENERGY STAR educational videos, shown up to six times per hour in more than 1,000 stores in 2014, reaching more than 27 million consumers.
- In the past 7 years, we have trained more than 78,000 Blue Shirt sales associates on the benefits of ENERGY STAR – that’s more than 20,000 training hours.
Since 2009, we have sold enough ENERGY STAR certified products that over the product lifetime will help our customers realize $550 million in utility bill savings and prevented 7.9 billion pounds of CO2 emissions. That’s the equivalent of removing more than 700,000 cars from the road for a year.
The 2015 EPA Partner of the Year Award winners were selected from the 16,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program. For details about the program, visit www.energystar.gov.
