Been dying to get your hands on Samsung’s latest smartphone, but don’t want to be tied to a carrier or plan? You’re in luck. Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are now available for pre-order, and Best Buy is the exclusive unlocked retail partner where you can get one.
The popularity of unlocked phones has been growing rapidly, with an estimated 28 million people in the U.S. owning one. With unlocked phones, you skip signing a contract with a carrier. Instead, you buy your phone outright. Then you choose almost any carrier and any plan, and switch them up whenever you want.
Best Buy is the exclusive unlocked retail partner where you can now pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ unlocked smartphones. You can pre-order on BestBuy.com and in stores. You can choose between the Galaxy S8 for $724.99, or the Galaxy S8+ for $824.99. Both will be available in Midnight Black.
Even better for Best Buy customers – there will be limited time financing on the unlocked Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with your My Best Buy Credit Card1, allowing you to get the new device at a great price. You can also take advantage of our trade-in program on eligible devices for credit toward a new unlocked Galaxy S8 or S8+. (Here are some things to know when trading in a phone.)
Best Buy also has one of the largest collections of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ accessories, so don’t forget to pick up phone cases, charging devices and more when you order.
What’s ‘unlocked,’ anyway?
An unlocked phone is the same, top-quality device you get with a contract, but it’s not tied to a contract or a carrier. Buying an unlocked phone can save you money by giving you the freedom to adjust your phone plan whenever you choose. Some plans are less expensive than contract plans, so even if you spend a little more for your phone upfront, you can end up saving money over time. Plus, you can tailor your plan based on what features you want the most, such as unlimited data, or limit it to just phone calls and text.
Of Best Buy customers surveyed, 92 percent2 like the flexibility to choose the phone, carrier and plan that’s right for them. At Best Buy, those carriers include the major names you know, like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and Cricket.
Visit your local Best Buy store, and an expert Blue Shirt will be able to share more details. Meantime, this one-minute video will help, too:
